Are you ready for the challenge of a lifetime? If so, we invite you take on The Great Wall of China and conquer one of the New Wonders of the World in support of LOROS Hospice.
Join us for a five-day adventure hiking 36km along the magnificent man-made structure. This remarkable challenge will take you over watch towers, mountains and through historic battlement stations that are well off the tourist trail. During this challenge, there are times where the Great Wall will feel like it is just for you, with no-one else in sight.
You will test yourself against thousands of steps, triumph over the crumbling, twisting pathways and savour the timeless landscapes. Rest assured, the Great Wall of China provides a fantastic backdrop to some fantastic trekking.
What’s special about this challenge is that you get the opportunity to leave your legacy on this iconic landmark. You will get the opportunity to place your very own brick in the Great Wall, remaining there forever in memory of a loved one.
Glowing from your amazing success, you’ll then have some free time to explore Beijing’s famous sites such as the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square before a celebratory achievement dinner.
Why take part for LOROS?
Every step you take along the Great Wall will be a step towards supporting LOROS Hospice. You don't need to be a seasoned trekker; all you need is the spirit of adventure and a commitment to fundraising for a worthy cause.
LOROS relies on people like you to raise much-needed funds, and with your valuable support, we can affect the lives of patients and their families in their time of need. With your help, your sponsorship raised via trekking the Great Wall of China could pay for 5 and half days of care here at LOROS.
People just like you have enabled us to do amazing things here at the hospice - let’s make 2024 an even bigger success!
Support
You are not alone! You’ll have a dedicated contact here at LOROS, along with the support of others who are taking on the challenge for LOROS. If you like, we will introduce you to a team WhatsApp group so you can get to know the rest of the team taking part.
We will also offer guidance throughout the build-up to the challenge itself and send you all our opportunities to join in on LOROS training walks.
When it comes to fundraising, we can support you too. We’ll introduce you to fundraising tools such as JustGiving and sponsor forms, loan you equipment, suggest ideas for reaching your target and provide you with a timeline of milestones to keep you on track!
