Event Details
The London Marathon is one of the most desirable running events in the world. Every year, over 40,000 runners get the privilege of bounding stride after stride through the streets of the magnificent and iconic capital of England.
Some run for personal achievement, some want to tick off a bucket list activity, some run to raise money for their favourite charity, and others run to provide remembrance and reflection for a relative they may have lost.
Many people even choose to run in outrageous fancy dress: from giant shoes, London buses, to superheroes and a wide range of animals!

Why run for LOROS
Whether it’s your first marathon or you are a seasoned pro, you’ll have tens of thousands of people screaming encouragement as crowds line the streets of the nation’s capital..
LOROS relies on people like you to raise much-needed funds. With your valuable support, we can improve the lives of patients and their families in their time of need.
To give you an idea of what that help looks like, when your sponsorship reaches £1650, your support could pay for a mobile arm device to keep patients with motor neurone disease able to eat independently for as long as possible. Runners just like you have enabled us to do amazing things here at the hospice - let’s make the London Marathon 2025 an even bigger success!

Support
You are not alone! You’ll have a dedicated contact here at LOROS, along with the support of others who are running for team LOROS. If you like, we will introduce you to a team WhatsApp group so you can get to know the rest of the team taking part, whilst providing each other with encouragement to keep going.
We will also offer guidance throughout your training and preparation via training plans, training runs and advice forums, as well as providing you with a sought-after LOROS running vest!
When it comes to fundraising, we can support you too. We’ll introduce you to fundraising tools such as JustGiving and sponsor forms, loan you equipment, suggest ideas for reaching your target and provide you with a timeline of milestones to keep you on track!
