We're nearing completion of our major two-year site development project
Find out the latest developments below...
The first phase of our site development project was the creation of the LOROS Professional Development Centre, a single-storey building built on a grassed area adjacent to our car park.
The Professional Development Centre is a bespoke centre of excellence for education, training and research, designed to provide support for palliative and end of life care staff here at LOROS and across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The Centre also provides health and social care staff, local businesses, charities, events management companies and local community groups with a professional, reliable and convenient meeting and conferencing venue that is available to hire at highly competitive rates.
Opened in October 2018, Phase Two of our site development project saw the extension and development of our Day Therapy and Outpatient facilities. Allowing us to care for an extra 250 patients a year, this brand new facility is one of the best in the UK and enables us to deliver the very best end of life care.
The building is a calm, friendly environment where patients can relax, take part in arts and crafts, play games and even have a massage. For patients that are housebound, Day Therapy is a place where they can meet friends, exchange news and have a laugh.
All that remains to be completed is the landscaping of the Hospice grounds and the creation of new signage.
As part of our site development project, other areas within the Hospice have been developed to continue to provide the best and most up to date facilities for our patients and their families.
