Lawson-West Solicitors hosted an exciting charity quiz evening on Tuesday 29 October 2019, part of the Leicestershire Business Festival series of events, which was held at the King Power Stadium, Leicester, in support of Leicestershire & Rutland LOROS Hospice charity. The Business Quiz event raised over £500 in support of LOROS which is equivalent to the cost of one specialist nurse looking after inpatients at the hospice for 5 days.
Nearly 120 people took part in The Business Quiz with sponsored teams from Andrew & Ashwell, Cambridge and Counties Bank, Gallagher, Lawson-West Solicitors, Mazars, The Fabulous Group, Rowleys and Westerby. Other teams on the night were from Associate Events, Brewin Dolphin, BRI UK, EMB Group Limited, The INK Group, Intelligent Financial Advisory Ltd, Leicester City Football Club, Obsidian Tax Limited, The Fabulous Group and Pattersons Commercial Law.
LOROS volunteers and staff came out in force to help facilitate the marking of answer papers and to manage the all-important scoreboard. The Quiz Master for the evening was LOROS Trustee Chris Greenwell, whom many may know from the Leicester Stand-Up Comedy Challenge.
There were 12 rounds of fun and interesting questions for teams of 6 people - from ‘Setting-Up A Business’ to ‘BuildingYour Empire’ – which was a team challenge for building the tallest spaghetti and marshmallow 3D sculpture – to the more traditional ‘Picture Quiz’.
The overall winners of the 2019 Business Quiz were Rowleys Accountants in Leicester, who were presented with a first prize gift of champagne from Lawson-West and a gift of Premiership Rugby Leicester Tigers tickets from Gallagher Insurance.
