A team from PepsiCo walked off with the LOROS Accumulator Challenge Trophy after growing their £50 stake to an incredible £1,612.89.
The Challenge pitted teams from across the county against each other to see who could raise the most money from the £50 note which was provided by the Hospice.
The eight teams who completed the challenge this year were KPE Creative, 33rd/65th Leicester Scout Group, Sarah Watkins, Regent College, TSB, The Burrell’s, AXA PPP Healthcare and PepsiCo
The PepsiCo team also won the "Most Creative Challenge” Award for the sheer variety of different activities they organised.
The AXA PPP Healthcare team was awarded “The Most Engaging” Award. Their Charity Committee was very proactive, promoting LOROS in both their campus', providing each of their colleagues with the LOROS Events Brochure, scattering collection boxes around offices, hosting our Donation Stations and supporting the Lottery team selling raffle tickets. All of these activities were completed in addition to their Accumulator fundraising and raised awareness amongst their colleagues and encouraging them to support LOROS.
Magdalena Korytkowsa, Partnership Development Lead at LOROS, who presented the awards at a ceremony held at the King Richard III Centre last Wednesday said: “It has been wonderful to watch the community spirit of all those taking part and we are so grateful for the effort they’ve put in.
"It’s fantastic to see how each team used their initial £50 to gain as much profit as they possibly could.
"The accumulative total from the teams was a staggering £5,618.49 and will make a real difference to our patients.
The hospice has such a great rapport with our local community and businesses and we couldn’t do what we do without their help and support - thank you all again for your amazing and continuing support.
