The Melton Building Society has donated a total of over £20,000 to three local charities - Leicestershire & Rutland Hospice, LOROS; the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance Service (DLRAA) and charity for adults with learning disabilities, Hft.
The money was raised through affinity savings accounts which give savers an attractive rate of interest, whilst every year the Society donates a percentage of the average daily account balances to the relevant charity.
“LOROS helps over 2,500 patients and their families each year and this donation from the Melton will make a massive difference to our patient care services,” said Magdalena Korytkowska, Partnership Development Lead, LOROS.
“The DLRAA, along with LOROS and Hft, provide extremely valuable services and we are proud to be able to make these donations,” said Martin Reason, Chief Executive, the Melton. “Affinity accounts enable our members to help their chosen charity as the more money they save, the more the Melton donates to the charity each year.”
