LOROS Partnership Development Lead, Magdalena Korytkowska recently visited the staff at Mountsorrel quarry for a tour of the site and to collect their donation to the Hospice in memory of their colleague, Bob Stevens.
Bob was a weighbridge operator at the quarry and had completed 30 years service before sadly losing his battle with cancer in May.
The staff completed the sponsored bike ride to Skegness in his memory and raised an amazing £10,305,55.
Magda said: "I was given a lovely tour around the quarry which was really informative and it was so nice to hear more about Bob, how he worked with the guys and how much he is missed by them. They are all one big family - it was amazing!
Their donation could pay for the cost of one of our specialist nurses for almost 15 weeks and we are truly grateful to the Tarmac staff for their wonderful donation.
