LOROS has received a welcome donation of £1,000 from the team at Amazon’s fulfilment centre in Coalville.
The donation forms part of the ‘Amazon in the Community’ programme, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK. It will be used to help the charity continue to offer its services locally.
Members of Amazon’s Coalville fulfilment centre visited the charity to make the donation.
Amazon’s Coalville General Manager, Nathan Fetherston commented: “LOROS Hospice plays a pivotal role in providing quality and compassionate care to local people, so when the opportunity arose to support this fantastic cause we were more than happy to contribute. We hope our donation allows LOROS to continue its vital work in our community.”
Magdalena Korytkowska, Partnership Development Lead at LOROS Hospice added: “We are very grateful to Nathan and the team from Amazon for this very generous donation.
"This amazing amount is equivalent to the cost of one of our specialist nurses to look after our inpatients for ten days. It is a fantastic contribution to the care we provide.
"It was wonderful to be able to show the members of Amazon around and explain how this donation is going to make a difference to our patients and their families.”
