We can't believe we are into week 11 of the Accumulator Challenge - just this week and next to go!
To help with your final push please remember to make the very best of the internet, email and social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn; they are all excellent means of spreading the word about your events to friends and friends of friends!
Since our last update the Tokio Marine team have taken advantage of the gorgeous weather and organised an Ice Cream Sale. Local company, ByBrook Event Hire in Leicester, very kindly loaned them a portable freezer to keep their ice cream in - and did so completely free of charge - how cool is that!
The Highcross Leicester team involved 20 retailers from their shopping centre in their Yellow Day for LOROS. We're sure this event will add significantly to their final total.
Team Charlie organised a Big Stride for Charlie. They asked staff to donate £1 and volunteer 15 minutes of their time to walk a mile route around the site. They were accompanied by two ministerial MPs and two Council representatives - quite a coup!
If you are running out of ideas, how about asking your colleagues to donate an hour of their wages and let them know what LOROS could do with just one hour of their time:
£5 could pay for a patient’s meals for a day or buy two giving sets for syringe drivers or buy arts and crafts materials for creative therapy
£10 could pay for the collection of a patient from home for day therapy
£20 could buy plants and gardening services for the Hospice grounds
£25 could pay for an hour of care for one of our inpatients or buy a protective uniform for a nurse
Good luck everyone; we are all keeping our fingers crossed for your plans. Stay awesome, guys!
