Leicester Racecourse and LOROS Hospice are announcing a new partnership for 2024 which will see the hospice become its new charity of the year.
The partnership will create lots of opportunities for support, including a dedicated charity day of racing as well as the hugely successful annual bonfire and fireworks festival.
David Maykels, General Manager at Leicester Racecourse said: “We are proud to announce that LOROS will be our charity of the year in 2024.
“We choose our charity partner very carefully and it is vital that they do wonderful things for the local community whilst proving they are professional at all times. Whilst there are lots of fantastic local charities there are only a few who tick all the necessary boxes. LOROS are most definitely tick all the boxes and for this reason we will be supporting them heavily on 2024."
Rob Parkinson, Chief Executive of LOROS Hospice, said: “Like Leicester Racecourse, LOROS is a big part of the community and this exciting partnership will help us raise awareness of our services to new audiences.
“We’re really looking forward to working with Leicester Racecourse to reach into new communities and form friendships with new supporters, volunteers and local businesses across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.”
The two organisations are also discussing ways for patients, carers and families to benefit directly from the partnership through possible race day visits, hospitality and event tickets.
