Getting socks for Christmas is always thought to be a boring present but for LOROS Hospice it’s anything but.
Thanks to its patron, comedian actor Greg Davies, the charity has received a generous donation of nearly £10,000 as a result of a raffle draw for 44 pairs of socks worn by Greg and co-presenter Alex Horne.
The socks, worn whilst making Taskmaster, were available via a raffle for £5 per ticket, and the raffle raised more than £36,000.
Speaking on BBC Radio Leicester, Laura Betts, LOROS fundraising manager said: “We’re so delighted to receive almost £10,000 from the raffle of socks! It’s a fantastic amount which is so important to us and a lovely present this Christmas. A huge thanks to Greg and to all the Taskmaster fans who raised it.”
