After seven highly successful years, LOROS CEO John Knight has taken the decision to step down from the role to take up a leadership position with a charity in the North East.

John will leave LOROS in early 2022 after helping in the recruitment of his successor.

During his time at LOROS, John has led many major developments in the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients and their families across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. This includes the building of a professional development centre to train frontline and healthcare professionals, the extension of day therapy and outpatient spaces and the formation of LOROS becoming the Affiliated Teaching Hospice of the University of Leicester.

Professor Robin Graham-Brown, Chairman of the LOROS Board of Trustees said: “John has been an outstanding leader and we have been very fortunate to have had him at the helm at LOROS for the seven years. His vision and guidance have been a vital part of our recent journey, creating new opportunities, developing new relationships and steering the charity through a number of significant developments.”

John Knight, CEO at LOROS said: “I’m incredibly proud in what we have achieved as a team during my time as CEO in LOROS. This is a very special and much-loved organisation for the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, it has been a privilege to lead a wonderful group of people who support and deliver such high-quality care to the terminally ill. LOROS is well positioned to take its next steps in development with confidence and strength.”
