LOROS’ memorial Robins have been literally flying off the shelves since they were launched two weeks ago.
After creating a beautiful tranquil memory garden in the centre of busy Leicester City Centre a few weeks ago, sales of LOROS Robins have soared with 2,500 sold to date, raising thousands of pounds for LOROS Hospice.
The handcrafted metal Robins are available in most LOROS shops and online until 20th September, priced at £25.
“We’ve been really overwhelmed by the public’s support for our Robins Campaign. They’ve really struck a chord”, said Charlotte Graham, fundraising coordinator at LOROS.
“We’ve been inundated with people’s stories of robins, many of them so touching and beautiful, it’s been lovely. Like Leanne Myles, whose granddad loved birds. When he died, a robin appeared and would visit her Nan in her garden. For her, and for many others, robins have such a special significance.”
With less than 1,000 LOROS Robins left, LOROS is urging people to snap them up quick to avoid disappointment.
The Robin theme, which originated from the rhyme ‘When robins appear, loved ones are near’, has proved so popular, an image of the collectable has been chosen as a LOROS’ Christmas card too.
“As well as reminding people of loved ones, robins are very festive so we thought we would make them available as a Christmas card. You can buy them in our shops right now, together with a range of other Robin Campaign merchandise”, added Charlotte.
