LOROS is holding its annual free, family fun day, the Big Day Out, on Saturday 5th October and there will be something to entertain everyone.
The day-long event promises to be bigger and better with more games and entertainment than ever before.
Outdoor games include a bouncy castle, inflatable gladiator duel, archery, crazy golf whilst children can ride on a mini vintage bus and come face to face with a fluffy alpaca.
Parents can listen to the live music including a Paloma Faith tribute act, sip an ice cold prosecco and relax in our beauty rooms which offer complementary therapies.
This year even the teenagers haven’t been forgotten as LOROS is featuring a gaming competition too.
As well as entertainment there will be lots of food and craft stalls, ice cream van, barbeque and of course a tombola and raffle.
LOROS Big Day Out is an open day which kickstarts Hospice Care Week, an awareness raising campaign which aims to dispel myths and help people understand more about what hospice care is.
LOROS CEO John Knight said: “The Big Day Out is a great way for local people to find out more about what LOROS does and what services we offer, at the same time as having a fun day out!”
This year the Hospice will be running a series of tours of its new facilities including the beautiful new Day Therapy rooms and gardens.
“We want to show the public where their generous donations go - providing the best possible facilities and care for our patients.
“The open day is one of our ways of saying thank you to all LOROS supporters whilst showing them how important they are to our success.
John added, “Like last year, we’re offering free car parking at a nearby location so we can use all our space at the hospice for stalls and activities.
“This will ensure we can keep the queues down and make sure everyone has a great time. We’ll update our website with the latest developments so check back regularly.”
LOROS’ Big Day Out event is taking place at the Hospice, on Groby Road and will be starting at 10am and finishing at 3pm.
