Hundreds of people are expected to join LOROS for their annual Christmas Concert this year.
Kicking off the countdown to Christmas, the event, which takes place following the first Sunday of Advent, will be held at St James the Greater Church on Monday 3rd December.
The evening which will be filled with festive songs and fun, is being organised by Applause, with BBC Radio Leicester presenters Dave Andrews and Monica Winfield hosting.
Speaking about the event, Monica said: “Once again we’ll be hosting the annual Christmas Concert at St James the Greater; it’s always the highlight of our year.
“The festive concert will be showcasing performers from all over Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, including singers, congregational carols and musicians.”
A few of those performing on the night are the Fosse Brass Ensemble, including Paul Hing who performs the Post Horn Gallop at LCFC, Musical Village Choir and the Leicester Rock Choir.
Also performing will be the LOROS Singers, a group made up of past and present members of Hospice staff and volunteers, as well as their families and friends.
Director of the all-female group Judy Dodd, said: “We’re all really looking forward to it; it’s always a nice event.
“There’s a great mixture of entertainment and the audience participate wholeheartedly during the carols.
“We all love being a part of the event, you can’t help but feel a sense of joy when you sing to a Church packed full of people singing along with you.”
LOROS Community Lead, Adrian said he is extremely excited for the event.
“Sadly it will be the last organised by Applause, but I’m sure they will want it to be one of their very best concerts.
“Every year, we see hundreds of our supporters turn out in force to join us at our annual concert, and I would urge everyone to get their tickets as soon as possible,” added Adrian.
“This is one of many events and campaigns we have going on over the Festive period and I’m looking forward to seeing people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland support LOROS over Christmas.”
The concert will take place at St James the Greater on Monday 3rd December, with doors opening at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Tickets for the event, which are £10 each, with under 16’s costing £5, are available by calling the LOROS Fundraising team on (0116) 231 8431/2. There will also be a limited amount of tickets available on the door.
