Full Steam Ahead for LOROS is set to be more than just a ride on the Great Central Railway, with a country clothes stall, a Sunday stroll through the Leicestershire countryside and a delicious hog roast completing the event.

On Sunday 1st October, LOROS Hospice and the Great Central Railway will once again be teaming up to bring a jam-packed day of fun for all the family, including your pet pooches.

Participants can choose from a range of different routes to walk, all through beautiful Leicestershire countryside, before enjoying a ride on the Great Central Railway.

LOROS Fundraising Co-ordinator Dave Nicklin said: “What's better than dusting off your wellies, digging out your warm coats and taking a Sunday stroll in the autumn with all the family?

“Our Full Steam Ahead event promises to be fun for all ages, with a range of different walking routes to choose from, making it easy for everyone to take part.

“Last year’s event was a complete sell-out and we’re hoping for the same response again this year.”

New to this year’s event will be a pop-up LOROS stall, selling rustic wear, including jackets, coats, jumpers and wellies.

“Our Full Steam Ahead event makes the perfect day out for all the family, with plenty to do from start to finish,” added Dave.

“Plus, our brand new pop-up clothes stall will give people the chance to treat themselves and take part in a spot of retail therapy.”

There are four scenic routes to choose from, including five miles, eight miles and a 10 mile route, plus a nine mile route with no train ride included.

The event will begin at Quorn and Woodhouse Station, with participants boarding the Great Central Railway at Rothley Station.

After completing the event, participants will take the train back to Quorn Station, where they will be able to tuck into a complimentary hog roast.

Adult tickets for this event, which is sponsored by Western Power Distribution, start from just £8 and can be bought by visiting loros.co.uk/steam or calling (0116) 231 8431/2
