There were thrills and spills galore at the 8th annual Great Glen Wheelbarrow Race.
Hundreds of spectators gathered as converted wheelbarrows raced though the streets of the village on Saturday.
Pals Martin Ward and James Williamson were all revved up and were first past the finish line in the mile-long adults race.
Their racing car creation also took the adult prize for best decorated wheelbarrow.
Brother and sister Andrew and Evie Cording kept it simple and their plain barrow saw them win the under-16s race.
The trophy for the best decorated wheelbarrow for the under-16s went to Lois Leach and Eddie Hawes for their creation inspired by the movie 'The Cat in the Hat'.
The event was staged to help raise money for the Leicester-based LOROS hospice.
LOROS spokesman Andy Williams said: "It was great fun.
"It did rain but the community spirit shone through." Read more at http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/thrills-and-spills-at-great-glen-wheelbarrow-race/story-29688486-detail/story.html#XEKow8vGr7Fxzm8w.99
