An insurance company with a major presence in Rearsby, Leicester has donated £10,000 to LOROS to help the Hospice buy a brand new therapeutic bath for their patients.
Tokio Marine HCC donated the funds after choosing the Hospice as their local charity of the year.
The therapeutic bath has a hydrotherapy element helping to relieve pain and relax muscles and joints.
Jane Hull, Underwriting Director of Credit at Tokio Marine HCC said: “We are very happy to support LOROS as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.”
“LOROS was chosen as an important local charity and we look forward to working with and supporting LOROS in the excellent work that the charity does with its patients and their families in the local area.”
Tokio Marine HCC is a leading specialty insurer with offices in the UK, Spain and Ireland, with a wide range of niche insurance products. The company is made up of highly entrepreneurial teams equipped to underwrite special situations, companies and individuals. The second-largest UK office of Tokio Marine HCC is located in Leicester, where they employ more than 70 people from the local area.
Staff will be embarking on a number of fundraising activities to raise money for the Hospice over the next year.
“In September, a number of staff along with their friends and families are going to take part in the Thames Path Challenge, which will see them running, jogging or walking up to 100km to raise money for LOROS,” added Jane.
“Other initiatives will include a Donation Station in our office, volunteering at LOROS events and cake sales.”

Magdalena Korytkowska, Corporate Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS said she was delighted to hear Tokio Marine HCC had chosen the Hospice as charity of the year.
