Organised by Graham Brown, Relationship Director at HSBC Corporate, the annual HSBC Table Tennis Tournament has been raising funds for LOROS for the past seven years.

Held annually over a period of 4-6 weeks at HSBC's Corporate Branch at Grove Park, the participating teams have raised more than £20k for the Hospice.

This year, as well as donating the teams entry fees, HSBC raised a further £500 by raffling a Land Rover Driving Experience taking their 2016 total to £2,500.

This year's competing teams were Grant Thornton, Magma, Nelsons, HSBC Business Banking, Torr Waterfield, McIntrye Hudson, RSM, Edward Hands, Howes Percival, BDO, Weightmans, HSBC Corporate Banking, Spearing Waite, Newby Castleman, Mazars, and Gateley.

Grant Thornton were this year’s winners and Gateley won the Wooden Spoon.

Roger Pratt, HSBC Area Corporate Director, East Midlands said: "We were delighted for the 7th successive year to run our annual HSBC Professionals Table Tennis event. With 16 of Leicester's professional firms involved in this key signature event on the calendar, we were able to continue supporting our local Hospice.

"LOROS do some really excellent work, helping those who need them, and we're glad our support assists them. This year's donation takes our total to more than £20,000 raised over the duration of the event."

Laura Betts, Events Lead at LOROS added: "The HSBC Table Tennis Tournament is a fantastic fundraiser – fun being the key part of it!

"Graham has created something quite unique here and something that the legal firms want to be a part of each year.

"The competitive nature seems to increase annually and appears to be as a direct result of Graham’s witty weekly summary reports distributed to all of the competitors via email the day after each competition; I think the free pizza and beer provided by HSBC may also be a bit of a draw!

"LOROS are delighted to be part of such a fantastic event that brings the corporate community together whilst raising a valuable amount of money for the local Hospice."
