British Gas volunteers turn up trumps

British Gas employees are given two paid working days in order to volunteer their services to local good causes and we were delighted that volunteers from British Gas chose to use one of those days to help out the fundraising department at LOROS.

Split into two teams, one delivered letters to the residents of Rothley informing them about the road closures for the upcoming Rothley 10k race, whilst the second packed goody bags for the runners.

Laura Fitzsawyer, the event organiser, said: "We rely heavily on volunteers to assist us with pre-event administration and the two teams from British Gas Services were invaluable in our preparation for this popular fundraising event, which raises much need cash for the Hospice every year.

"We are indebted to them for their hard work and 'can do' attitude and would like to thank them all for choosing LOROS as their good cause - we hope they will do so again."

Lyneth Williams from British Gas said: “The team really enjoyed volunteering for LOROS and supporting such a worthy cause. We had a wonderful time and look forward to helping the LOROS fundraising team again in the future.”
