On Sunday 5th June Magdalena Korytkowska, Corporate Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS was given the opportunity to present an insight into LOROS, what it does and how it’s funded, to Leicester Secular Society.

It is the oldest secular society in the World and they have their own fantastic Secular Hall with an impressive ball room which was opened by Charles Bradlaugh and George Holyoake back in 1851.

Alt textEvery Sunday at 6:30pm the Society holds speaker events, which are also open to the public; past speakers have included George Bernard Shaw, Maryam Namazie, Bertrand Russell, Tony Benn and Annie Besant, so our very own Magda, was in very great company!

The title of her presentation was 'Don’t just do it. Do it with passion and pride – Fundraising to care for local people' and Magda talked about fundraising for LOROS, its beauty and its challenges.

Magda said: "It was my pleasure to be invited to speak in such historic surroundings and to such a receptive audience.

"I hope everyone enjoyed the event and they are now sufficiently knowledgeable about LOROS to be able to spread the word about what we do and hope to achieve from a fundraising perspective."
