LOROS benefits from Rutland Charity

The annual Good and New Clothes Sale, recently held at Barnsdale Lodge Hotel and Restaurant, has also proved beneficial to LOROS.

The fundraising event was organised to raise money for 'For Rutland-In Rutland' which supports a service at Citizens Advice, Rutland, to provide non-medical advice to people in Rutland and the surrounding community living with long term illnesses.

Rails of high quality new and little-used designer and high quality clothes, goods and accessories were on sale, and whilst there were hundreds of people bagging themselves some great bargains there were, inevitably, some goods left at the end of the weekend: for the second year running, it was decided that they should be donated to LOROS.

LOROS Corporate and Community Relations Co-ordinator Elaine Godber said: "We were delighted to receive a full van load of clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories and I would like to thank the ladies of Rutland for continuing to support LOROS.

"The good quality designer labels and well known high street brands of clothes can be found for sale in the LOROS By Design shop on Market Street, Leicester and the remainder will be distributed around our other shops. I'm sure they will raise a considerable amount for the Hospice.

"I would also like to express my thanks to the National Citizen Service students from Leicester Tigers unit, LOROS volunteer Margaret Calvert who helped load the goods and LOROS van drivers Nick and Dave who all did a fantastic job."
