Coventry Building Society lay the foundations for a great Accumulator Challenge

Staff at Coventry Building Society’s Leicester branch have made a great start to their LOROS Accumulator Challenge.

Once again this year, they are offering their customers passbook covers for a £1 donation to LOROS - a great way to protect their books and support a good cause.

Julie Ball, manager at the Coventry’s Leicester branch, said: "The team have been busy organising 'Hook a Duck' inside the branch, which has been a great hit. Each person who managed to hook a duck received a small, funny gift. We'd also like to thank Pepsico for donating boxes of Walkers crisps.

"We had an Easter chick and egg sale - the eggs were kindly donated by Cadbury's and Bestway Cash and Carry, while hats for the chicks were knitted by friends and family - thanks to Doris, Maureen, Jan and Sam for their hard work.

"We've also had a fantastic response from friends, family and our members who sponsored the team of four in the LOROS Twilight Walk last Saturday - well done to Naz, Amisha, Ange and Ro.

"Added to that, we have been able to donate £1,000 to support LOROS with its fundraising activities, thanks to a grant from the Coventry’s Community Partner Fund.

"All of the above has brought our total so far to an amazing £2,250."

Magdalena Korytkowska, Corporate Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS added: "This is a great start for the staff at the Coventry’s Leicester branch and I'm sure there will be a lot more to come. I shall look forward to visiting them soon to see how they are progressing their £50 stake.

"It is very pleasing when businesses commit to supporting us year on year and we are delighted that the Coventry have chosen to take part in our Accumulator Challenge once again - we wish them every success in their fundraising."
