Over Black Friday and the Thanksgiving weekend Fat Face went against the norm and donated to charities instead of discounting their products.
10% of net profits during the Black Friday weekend were donated to local chosen charities all around the UK, with a total of 221 charities benefiting from the campaign.
The local Leicester Fat Face store on Market Street, chose LOROS as their local and worthy charity and raised a massive £889.77 from their donation of the weekend’s share of the profit.
The team also raised a further £75.00 in-store by running a static bike event over the weekend. A cycling machine was brought into the store, with the team aiming to cycle as far as they could over the weekend.
Customers were invited to guess how many miles the team could cover and the winner would receive a hamper donated by the Fat Face team filled with all sorts of gifts from the store and local independent businesses. It was a great weekend with customers’ guesses ranging anywhere from 25 miles up to as many as 450!
In the end (with some actual work done in between) a total of 71 miles was reached and the winning customer and her daughter were over the moon when they collected their prize.
Store Manager, Helen Rhodes presented the cheque for £889.77 to LOROS on Thursday 11th February, along with crew members Amber Peyton and Olly Hodgson, who both played their part in the event with the rest of the store’s team.
Andrew Ward, Fundraising Co-ordinator for LOROS said: "Massive congratulations to everyone in store.
"Not only did they take part in Fat Face’s nationwide Black Friday donation, they literally went the extra mile and rallied together on their own challenge and raised even more in the process - thank you so much."
