The LOROS Lottery team is desperately searching for new volunteers to help collect money from their supporters.

With the amount of people who play the Hospice’s weekly lottery increasing by the day, the team urgently need more people to help collect money for them.

More than 24,500 people currently play the LOROS Lottery, which raised more than £500,000 to help terminally ill patients last year.

Lottery Manager Liz Singleton said: “Last year, LOROS Lottery alone raised enough money to nearly cover the cost of running LOROS for a whole month, which is amazing.

“But we would not be able to raise that money without the vital help we receive from our volunteers.

“However, with more people playing the lottery, we urgently need more volunteers to help us out.”

Collectors would need to be able to collect money once every four weeks and are needed all over the city and county.

Specific areas collectors are needed include the Abbey Lane area, Anstey, Beaumont Leys, Birstall, Braunstone Town, Broughton Astley, Coalville, Cosby, Evington, Hugglescote, Leicester Forest East, Lutterworth, Mountsorrel, Rothley, Syston, Thurcaston, Thurnby and Whitwick.

“We are quite flexible, so can place you somewhere that suits you depending on your personal lifestyle, like for instance, if you can drive, we take that into account,” added Liz.

“This is your chance to give something back and do something amazing by giving up just a small amount of time for your local Hospice.”

LOROS Lottery collectors must be 16 or over and will receive full training.
