Conor Dawson, of Loughborough, whose stage name is Ronoc, will give the proceeds from his single Battling On to Rainbows, LOROS and Pro Active Community Endeavours (PACE).
Conor, 23, said he wrote the song a while ago without the intention of releasing it as a charity single.
He said: "I wrote the song about stages in life and how times can be tough. It is about trying to find the silver lining.
"When I was having a chat with my dad he said the message behind it was quite powerful.
"He said maybe I could raise money for charity. That is when the idea came about."
It is Conor's second single following the release of his first EP, Through The Gaps, in April.
Battling On, which has also been produced by Conor, will be released on Friday.
He said: "I selected these three charities for different reasons.
"Rainbows is a charity I have grown up with. It is on the estate where I used to live.
"With LOROS, it is a similar thing – they both help with terminal illness.
"I chose PACE because it is local to me and run by a church at the end of the road where I work. They do a lot of work with people struggling with poverty in the area."
Conor said it was important for people to download and not stream the song.
If it is downloaded the money goes to the charities, but if it is streamed only a small amount is donated.
He said: "Get this song in the charts and raise some cash for Rainbows, LOROS and PACE this Christmas."
An event to launch the single is being held on Friday night at The Griffin pub in Loughborough.
