LOROS Hospice is giving their supporters the chance to win £10,000 or a brand new car thanks to this year’s Christmas Raffle.
The charity, which is based in Groby Road, is selling tickets for just £1, with the top prize being either £10,030 – an amount chosen to tie in with the Hospice’s 30th birthday year - or a Toyota Yaris Active.
Whether you want to treat loved ones to that dream holiday, or fancy spoiling yourself rotten this Festive season, winning £10,030 will ensure this will be one magical Christmas you will never forget.
“What better way to start the New Year than having £10,030 in your bank or a brand new car on your drive,” said LOROS Lotteries Manager, Liz Singleton.
“And with 28th November the last day to get your hands on tickets, there is no time to waste, make sure you buy your tickets today – you have to be in it, to win it.”
While being in with a chance of winning a prize, playing the Christmas Raffle, will also help LOROS continue supporting patients, like Guy Lambeth.
Father-of-three Guy, 47, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease four years ago. He used to be a scaffolder but since being diagnosed he has had to give up work and has lost the use of his arms.
“Over the past four years everything has changed – everything,” said Guy.
“My wife has become my full time carer and she now does everything I used to do.”
“The hardest bit for me is the kids - I can’t play with them how I used to,” he said.
Guy started coming to LOROS three and a half years ago, and he’s very appreciative of everything the nurses have done for him.
“I have regular physiotherapy and complementary therapy sessions, like massages and acupuncture. It helps loosen my joints and muscles, and I go home feeling relaxed," added Guy.
He is also visited regularly by a LOROS Community Nurse Specialist. “They’re fantastic,” he says. “They helped me understand my illness when I was first diagnosed, and ever since, they’ve gone above and beyond to support me.”
Buying a £1 ticket and playing the LOROS Christmas Raffle could help the Hospice continue supporting people like Guy and his family.
The deadline to buy tickets this year is 28th November, with the draw taking place on 9th December.
