Stuart Ellison is taking part in a 10,000ft skydive in order to raise funds in memory of his late Dad.
Stuart, from Coalville, will complete his skydive on November 20th, which would have been his Dad's 56th birthday. He is hoping to raise a minimum of £1,000 for LOROS despite being terrified of heights.
Stuart said: "Dad took a serious turn for the worst in January this year following a 3½ year battle with cancer. That evening we managed to get him into LOROS.
"From that moment on, until Dad passed away on the 20th January, the nurses and everyone at LOROS were superb. Not only did they take care of dad with the utmost care and compassion, they also looked after the whole family at what was, the most traumatic time of our lives.
"We can't speak highly enough of them, but what I can do is try raise as much money as possible for them by jumping out of a perfectly good plane that I know is going to land once I've jumped!
"I'm terrified of heights, I can't even go up a ladder at work, so this isn't going to be enjoyable for me at all!
"Please sponsor as much or as little as you'd like - every bit helps and will be gratefully received by the Hospice."
Debbie Dickman, Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS said: “I really admire Stuart for confronting his fears to raise money for the Hospice. Everyone here wishes him the very best of luck and look forward to hearing all about his adventure."
