On Bank Holiday Monday 31st August 2015, the people of Leicester were able to indulge in delicious Indian cuisine from across the Indian subcontinent and shop until they dropped at the now famous, Mela Bazaar.
Magdalena Korytkowska (Fundraising Co-ordinator), Lynda Chapman (with tombola), Dipti Unka (Mehndi artist) and Natasha Bhogaita with her family attended the event on behalf of LOROS.
Despite the fact that it was a horrible and very wet day, the event was successful and so were we. We were able to raised awareness about LOROS, and talked to a significant number of people about our new shop on Belgrave Road which will be opening shortly. As an added bonus we also managed to raise more than £300 for the Hospice.
Magda said: "I would like to say a massive thank you to Dipti for donating her time and skills and providing the Mela audience with beautiful henna, to Lynda for putting together a tombola stall and running it so successfully and to everyone who visited us and purchased craftes made by our patients, staff and volunteers at the LOROS Day Therapy."
