A fund-raising tattoo marathon raised more than £1,500 for LOROS hospice.
Black Market Tattoos, in Silver Walk, Leicester, hosted the event organised by tattoo artist Nush Turner.
She decided to do it for her grandad, Raymond Cank, who is battling prostate cancer. He has chosen LOROS as his cause.
Nush, 23, said more than 70 people went along to Black Market Tattoos, of whom about 25 received tattoos.
She said: "It went amazingly well. It was overwhelming, really, the amount of support we had.
"We did charity tattoos all day, art sales and sold cakes and drinks. There was also a jewellery stand."
Nush, who lives in the West End of Leicester, said the tattoos done on the day all related to cancer support, including several ribbons.
Designs such as birds, flowers, a lighthouse and an anchor all included a ribbon.
All the profits went to LOROS.
Nush said she was inspired to organise a fund-raiser after her grandad raised money for charity this year by shaving off his hair.
"When he decided to cut his hair off, he made nearly £1,000 and I wanted to double it," said Nush.
Raymond, 70, a retired soldier, milkman and lorry driver who was born and raised in Braunstone Frith said what Nush had done was fantastic.
"On Saturday, I went down even though I was not feeling too good, to support them. When I saw the response, I was overwhelmed," he said.
LOROS cares for more than 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland every year.
