Market Harborough Building Society is delighted to present LOROS Hospice with a cheque totalling over £9,000, raised from donations made by the Society in relation to the Instant Access LOROS savings account, the Society’s AGM voting scheme and various fundraising events.
Lisa Ashley, Branch Manager of the Market Harborough Branch, said “We are very proud to support LOROS. Their presence in the local area is highly valued and they play a big part in supporting our community. The funds they raise help to provide high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers.”
Diane Morris from LOROS Hospice said: “We are so grateful to the Market Harborough Building Society and their members for their continuing support of LOROS. Their annual generous donation is crucial in enabling us to provide our valued services each year to over 2,500 patients and their families. Thank you so much to the Society and members for their wonderful support.”
LOROS has put its name to an Instant Access savings account with the Society, allowing customers to save and help the local charity. Each year the Society donates 0.5% of the average balances held in each account to the hospice, making a huge difference.
In addition, as part of the Society’s AGM voting scheme, 25p was donated for every vote made by its members from a choice of three charities including LOROS.
It is 30 years since LOROS welcomed their first patient to the Groby Road Hospice and since then they have cared for more than 30,000 patients, their families and carers. They need to raise a minimum of £4.5 million every year to keep these services going.
