On Thursday I attended the much anticipated LOROS Ascot ladies day held at Leicester Racecourse. The lovely local ladies truly brought the glamour of Royal Ascot to Leicester and I was so impressed by the effort everyone had made with their outfits, it really added to the atmosphere on the day.

I was asked to judge the best dressed competition, which included a prize for the 'Most Thrifty' outfit, which I awarded to a stunning lady who had bought her entire outfit from the LOROS shop for a grand total of twelve pounds!

I had a fantastic day despite not winning on any of my bets, but then I did make my decisions purely based on the names of the horses!

This year LOROS are celebrating 30 years since they welcomed their first patient into the Groby Road Hospice.

They are celebrating with a '30 for 30 campaign' which will take place throughout September. They are asking everyone to do 30 things for LOROS with a fundraising target of £30.

There are lots of exciting events planned throughout the month which I will be involved with so I will keep you updated!
