Intrepid cyclists saddle up for LOROS

On Saturday 6th June, 88 eager LOROS fundraisers lined up alongside other cyclists and fundraisers at Leicester Clock Tower, with the intention of cycling all the way to Skegness Clock Tower.

At precisely 6am the claxon sounded and their 82 mile journey began. Although it was a warm and sunny day, there was a very blustery wind. "Not to worry", said one of the cyclists "With a bit of luck, it will help us on our way". And it surely did - the first of our cyclists was on Skegness sea front just 3 hours and 39 minutes later!

Members of the LOROS fundraising team were on hand to greet all the cyclist at the Clock Tower and to congratulate them on a great job, well done.

Adrian Walker, Senior Fundraiser, said: "We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in this year's event and to Martin Isaac and everyone at the Wheel Inn for organising a brilliant day.

"It was a pleasure for us to be able to greet everyone at the iconic Skegness Clock Tower and to present them with a certificate of recognition for their fantastic performances.

"We are hoping to raise close to £15,000 from the event. This amount of money could pay for the care of two inpatients for a 12 day stay at the Hospice and still leave enough to contribute towards the running of the day therapy service for two days.

"Thank you once again, each and every one of you - with your help, we really can make a difference to those who need ours!"
