The paintings and photographs of artists and patients went on show at LOROS during an open day.
To mark the end of Hospice Care Week the Hospice, in Groby Road, Leicester, opened its doors to the public on Saturday.
Dozens of art works, many donated by local artists but others created by patients at the creative therapy unit, went on sale.
A total of about £2,000 was raised at the event, which was the first ever art exhibition held at the Hospice.
Jo Kavanagh, director of Care Services at LOROS, said: “We had more than 150 people visiting throughout the day and we sold the art work that had been donated to us.
“But the main thing was to get the general public in to have a look around and raise awareness of what we do.
“We had some very positive comments from visitors.”
The cash raised will go towards the general running costs of the Hospice, including art supplies for the creative therapy unit.
More than 2,500 patients use LOROS each year and the services provided by the charity cost about £7.5 million each year, of which only a third is provided through taxpayers’ money.
