Alan Birchenall, this week shared his footballing knowledge and expertise with LOROS patients, staff and volunteers in a World Cup inspired Penalty Shoot-out here at the Hospice.
Hannah Poulton, LOROS Physio Therapist first had the idea of decorating the social area with England flags to celebrate the up and coming World Cup and the idea quickly spiralled with members of the Nursing and Enablement Teams asking if Alan Birchenall might be willing to visit the Hospice and host a penalty shoot-out. Birch, not one to miss a party, was quick to agree and turned up in full LCFC training gear before donning World Cup fancy dress and posing for photos with staff volunteers and patients.
I think it is fair to say Birch was impressed with the technical abilities of those visiting LOROS as well as staff members with girls from the Domestic and Fundraising Teams coming out as winners!
Diane Morris, LOROS Fundraising Manager said; “Days like today bring so much joy to the Hospice, there was so much fun and laughter all around and it was fantastic to see so many patients as well as family members, staff and volunteers come out to support.
"We are so fortunate to have Alan as a Patron, he never fails to put smiles on people’s faces and we are so grateful for his continued and dedicated support.”
