Let's get walking again!

The LOROS Coast to Coast walkers started their training last Sunday. In September they are going to walk 192 miles from St Bees in the Lake District through to Robin Hood’s Bay in Yorkshire. Before that they not only have to do some fundraising for LOROS, but also need to build up their endurance. They began with an 8 miles walk in Bradgate Park.

The team set off at 9am from Swithland Wood South Car Park. The walk included Beacon Hill and Old John, as well as part of the LOROS Walk on the Wildside route. The weather wasn't brilliant as the wind raged and Alt textthe clouds were quite low, but the good companionship and views were very rewarding.

It's not too late to book your place for the LOROS Coast to Coast in aid of LOROS but don't leave it too long as the accommodation needs to be booked very soon.

Whether you are taking part in the LOROS Walk challenge or considering it, or you are a previous walker, you would be very welcome to join in any of the planned training walks. Please make sure you have suitable walking boots and clothing to handle the UK weather and ample food and drink for the duration of the walk.
