The annual LOROS golf day was once again very popular with a sell-out 23 teams participating in a shotgun start at the prestigious Rothley Park Golf Club on Friday 2nd May 2014.
Diane Morris, Fundraising Manager for LOROS said, “A wonderful day was had by all and the weather was very kind. I am so grateful to all the players for participating and for their generosity in raising an amazing £13,000 profit to help fund care for our terminally-ill patients and provide support for their families. This could pay for all LOROS in patient meals and drinks for 2 months or over 2,000 patients to be brought from home to receive day therapy.
"LCM Wealth Management sponsored the event; Spire Leicester Hospital the Lunch; and Mosdorfer CCL the Hospitality, with Pork Farms contributing fantastic savouries for all the players. Next provided the team prizes and some fantastic auction lots and Sam Spillane, of SJ Events & Danny Spillane of Golf Retails Limited the individual prizes. KPMG, Banner Batteries, Sygnet Signs, Stoll Knitting Machines and Walker Movements all sponsored tees. SJ Events supported the event. I am very grateful to all these companies for their marvellous support and also those who provided raffle and auction items.
"The winning team was Spire Leicester Hospital; second place went to Throgmorton Associates and McNicholas Construction came third. The Ladies ‘Nearest the Pin’ was won by Roisin Mason, Mens’ by Rob Rees, the Ladies’ ‘Longest Drive’ was also won by Roisin Mason and the Mens’ by Lorne Smith. Congratulations to all the winners.”
LOROS are very grateful to Countryside La Vie for their brilliant coverage of the event each year.
