Staff and volunteers have been decorating eggs to hang on an ash tree outside the hospice and are asking the public, schools, community groups, and businesses to help them.

The tree will be a focal point for patients, families and visitors to the hospice over the Easter period.

The charity need thousands of eggs.

The Easter Egg Tree was the idea of Cecilia Davis, creative therapist at LOROS.

She said: "This kind of project gives the patients a sense of achievement, and one that they can share with their family and friends. The tree also reflects perfectly the colourful, creative side of LOROS."

Finished eggs can be dropped off at the hospice at any time until Friday.

The eggs need to be sealed with clear varnish to make them weatherproof.

The hospice's reception is open 24 hours a day and can be found just off the Groby Road in Leicester.
