It’s thanks to the donation by the Society of one per cent of the average balances held in the account each year to three Leicestershire and Warwickshire hospices. This year it adds up to a total donation of £12,925 for the three hospices.
The money goes to: LOROS, which cares for people from Leicestershire and Rutland; The Myton Hospices, covering Coventry and Warwickshire; and Mary Ann Evans Hospice, based in Nuneaton and covering North Warwickshire.
The latest donation takes the total shared by the three hospices to £48,000 since the account’s launch in 2008. The account also pays interest to the account’s savers, who choose the account to help provide care and support to the terminally ill and their relatives. The minimum investment is £500 and the maximum investment is £300,000.
Lee Banks-Moore, Hinckley & Rugby’s branch manager at Upper Bond Street, Coalville and Barlestone, said: "We are always very pleased to support the hospices. It’s all thanks to our customers choosing to show their gratitude for the work the hospices do.”
Christian Weikert-Picker, fundraiser at LOROS, said: “What is extra special is that the customers have chosen to support the hospices for the long term. It shows how the community represented by the Society’s savers is firmly behind what the hospices achieve.”
