TV presenter Julia Bradbury will be the guest speaker at LOROS Hospice's annual ladies lunch this year.
Julia, who is a patron of the charity, will be guest of honour at the event being held at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday 14th May.
The presenter, who is best known for BBC shows including Countryfile, Watchdog and Planet Earth Live, became a patron of the hospice in August 2012.
Since then, she has fronted the charity's annual countryside walk, Walk on the Wildside, which takes place on 14th September.
Julia said: "Having had personal experience of cancer within my family, any difference I can make to the marvellous work LOROS does for the 2,500 local patients and their families it supports each year is indeed a great privilege.
"I am really looking forward to speaking at this event and meeting other LOROS supporters."
LOROS fundraiser and event organiser Laura Betts said: "LOROS feels so privileged to have Julia as our patron and guest speaker at the event this year.
"Julia's experience of rural and environmental issues, as well as her vast knowledge of the Great British countryside, is something that will appeal to many of our supporters."
Half the tables for the event have already been booked.
