This year's annual LOROS Christmas concert raised cash for the hospice while showcasing music groups.
The event took place at Leicester Cathedral on Monday night and was attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Jennifer, Lady Gretton, and other dignitaries.
Performers included the Leicester Amateur Operatic Society Choir, Leicester Fosse Brass Ensemble, Kibworth High School Orchestra and the LOROS Singers.
The entertainment was put on by the Applause charity, which raises money for LOROS, in Leicester, and Rainbows children's hospice, in Loughborough.
Diane Morris, fundraising manager at LOROS, in Groby Road, said it was the biggest concert it has ever had.
"It was a fabulous event and probably the biggest turnout we've had – we had to put out extra seats because of the number of people who came," she said.
"We had a great variety of performers and very good feedback from the dignitaries.
"We had collections after the concert and sold tickets to raise money for the hospice.
"It was a lovely event."
