Karen Hussey, who runs Kalimo Hair, in Glen Parva, lost her locks in aid of LOROS.
The 43-year-old was given the dramatic haircut at her salon in Needham Avenue by her sister Emma, 34.
Karen said: "LOROS looked after my mum and the rest of our family so well, I wanted to try to give something back.
"The nurses were truly amazing and mum could not have been in better hands."
Karen had already raised £850 from friends and relatives sponsoring her head shave, but she appealed to people to go along on the night to try to push the total past the £1,000 mark.
As a result, Emma wielded the electric shaver in front of a packed salon.
Karen said: "The response was marvellous and I raised a total of £1,300.
"The place was packed as my baby sister Emma cut off my pride and joy.
"I have a wig but am happy to be bald and proud, that way people ask me about it and I can tell them about my mother and how well LOROS cared for her.
"My partner, David, is quite keen for my hair to grow back but I quite like this GI Jane look. Apart from anything else I get an extra half an hour in bed in the morning as I don't have to sort my hair out."
