More than 800 people took part in the annual Walk on the Wildside to raise money for Leicester hospice LOROS.
They went on three different walks through Bradgate Park and Swithland Wood on Sunday.
The fundraisers tackled the traditional six-mile walk or n the challenge of the new 10 or 13.1-mile circuit.
Ex-Leicester City footballer Alan Birchenall was on hand to get the walkers under way at the Severn Trent Visitor Centre, at Cropston.
LOROS fundraiser Nancy Taylor said: "Everything came together so well this year. We had the people, we had the weather and we even had the Birch."
The organisers are hoping to beat last year's total of £35,000.
