Leicestershire's biggest music acts are gearing up to play across the city at the ultimate festival warm-up party.

Fringe Thursday takes place on Thursday, August 16 – the evening before the Summer Sundae Festival starts at De Montfort Hall.

Almost 30 bands and musicians will be performing at eight venues across the city centre, with buses being put on to ferry fans between the locations.

Acts include These Furrows, The Daydream Club, Little Night Terrors, Martin Luke Brown, Natalie Squance, Move, Panda Youth, Free Control, Dark Dark Horse and Leaving Party.

Leicester folk pop act The Daydream Club, whose third single, Neon Love Song (Part II), was recently featured in the latest Burberry eyewear campaign, will be on stage at Crumblin' Cookie.

The duo – Adam Pickering and Paula Walker – said they were looking forward to the night, and hoping to check out some other acts as well.

"The organisers are lovely people who put on a great event and it's the first time we'll be performing our newly-expanded live sound in Leicester," said Adam.

Tickets for Fringe Thursday are £5 and can be exchanged for wristbands on the night, which will give access to all the venues and transport. Money raised will go to Leicestershire hospice Loros.

Organisers Steve Jones and Rav Kaur said: "We can't wait for this year's Fringe Thursday. We've put together an exciting line-up and there really is something for everyone.

"At only £5 per ticket this gives people the chance to experience many different genres of the cream of the local crop of musicians and what the region has to offer."
