Steve Walsh fulfilled a boyhood dream by playing snooker with former world champion Steve Davis.
The 49-year-old former Leicester City star teamed up with Davis to take on former teammate Muzzy Izzet and ex-world champion John Parrott in a charity match.
The clash, on Saturday at Leicester Grammar School, raised at least £1,600 for LOROS hospice.
Walsh said: "I grew up in Preston and went to watch Steve Davis play at the Guildhall. He was my childhood snooker hero.
"To get to play with him is a dream come true for me."
Former snooker player John Virgo hosted the event and opened the night with a series of trick shots.
Event organiser Mukesh Parmar said: "The night went very well.
"Everyone had a great time and Steve Walsh was star-struck and so nervous about meeting one of his heroes.
"He did manage to calm down a bit because the two Steves beat Muzzy and John."
Adrian Walker, Senior Fundraiser at LOROS, said an auction and a raffle on the night had raised £1,600.
He said: "We are very grateful to the public for supporting the event and to the stars adding that touch of magic."
A proportion of money from the ticket sales is to be donated to LOROS.
